I think there was probably a prequel to this game, but I did not play it and do not intend to. Nexomon: Extinction is a sequel set in a new region, with over 300 Nexomon spanning 11 element types to tame as you try to stop the Tyrant Nexomon from wreaking havoc. Nexomon: Extinction 5 - Tier 2 (Drake Isles) Nexomon: Extinction 6 - Tier 3 - (Orphanage - Desert Outpost) Nexomon: Extinction 7 - Tier 3 - (Frozen Tundra - Drake Isles Second Half) Nexomon: Extinction 8 - Tier 3 - (Ignitia - Khan Woods) + Vaults and Legendaries. A team of starters is pretty decent, they learn the strongest attack of their respective element and their second evolution is stat wise only below legendaries. Unlike another certain monster catcher we could name, Nexomon‘s villains are actually Nexomon themselves, wild and giant versions of the creatures bent on destroying the world. There's a Nexomon from each of the nine types, each strong in certain circumstances. While the worldbuilding itself doesn’t get under your skin quite like Monster Crown does, Nexomon. All the lore and talk of humans on the brink of destruction actually serves a purpose the further you progress in the game. This opens the gates for unique types of monsters, interesting dynamics between characters, and much more. Nexomon: Extinction and its war between humans and Nexomon get pretty dark at times, at least for a monster taming game. Which will hopefully be a lot better than Scarlet/Violet because a lot of us are probably here because we were disappointed in the last Pokemon game and wanted to try something new. Combine that with his 100hp heal and you are pretty much unstoppable unless you can get someone to 1-2 shot you. Nexomon: Extinction, like the original Nexomon, differentiates itself from Pokemon by focusing on story and lore more than the genre giant. Yes, obviously this is a very cliche Pokemon ripoff, but I appreciate the honesty within the game where it calls itself out on being a cliche Pokemon ripoff.
